Detective Kim Mager is a 27 year law enforcement officer who graduated Top Gun of her academy. She has worked for Ashland City Police Division for 21 years. She specializes in sex offenses and child abuse and has investigated over 2000 cases for various jurisdictions. Detective Mager has a Bachelor’s Degree from Ashland University and she conducts trainings on interviewing, sex offenses, and child abuse.
She is trained in CVSA and is a member of the SART (Sexual Assault Response Team). She is the Crisis/Hostage Negotiator for Ashland County and has successfully negotiated numerous critical incidents. She is CIT (Crisis Intervention Team) trained and is a member of several outreach boards. She is the Program Director for Ashland County’s Shop With a Cop program and she conducts outreach for various at-risk groups.
Detective Mager has received a variety of awards including the Ohio Prosecuting Attorney Association State of Ohio Police Officer of the Year, Ashland County Woman of Achievement Award, Ashland Police Division’s Officer of the Year (two time recipient), Ohio Attorney General Distinguished Law Enforcement Community Service Award, The Ashland County Prosecutor’s Office Distinguished Service Award (two time recipient), along with many commendations.
Outside of work, Detective Mager is married to Dan Mager. They have a 22 year old son, Corbin, who recently graduated from the police academy and has been sworn in as a law enforcement officer. Kim and Dan also have an 11 year old daughter, Macy and a nine year old son, Reed.
