Sergeant John Bergen has worked at the Citrus County Sheriff’s Office since 2006. He began his career in road patrol then moved onto Narcotics and ultimately found his niche in Major Crimes. After several years as a detective in the unit he was promoted to Sergeant where he supervises seven detectives full-time. He is passionate about homicide and cold case investigations and has a great track record of soliciting confessions. He also loves to teach new detectives creative investigative strategies to assist in their investigations.
He has worked many high profile cases in Citrus County to include the following cases:
· Doctor Daniel McIntyre for running a pain clinic
· Benjamin Dick for murdering his own mother
· Jessica Baker for murdering Don Plumeri
· Darren Decker for murdering Don Plumeri
Sergeant Bergen has been married for 17 years and has two sons. He enjoys the outdoors and has a special interest in amateur watch making,
