Darren Norris spent over 30-years in law enforcement, primarily in supervisory and investigative roles, for the Pasco Sheriff’s Office and the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office. Most of those years were dedicated to homicide investigations, specifically cold case investigations. Darren has co-authored articles published in national forensic journals, and served as an adjunct instructor for several colleges, the Institute of Police Technology and Management, and the National Intelligence Academy.
In 2018, as part of the Marjory Stoneman Douglas School Safety Act, Darren was selected to serve as the School Safety Specialist for the Sumter County School District. In this role, Darren oversees all school safety personnel, as well as all safety related projects and policies. Darren is still a sworn law enforcement officer with the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office, where he remains active in training and investigative support.
